Welcome to this week’s Marketing Minute Tip. An interesting subject line for sure, but first let’s examine the difference between the two. It’s easy to confuse them. So this week, I thought we’d take a moment to review the differences and what that means to you.
First, a Free Report Campaign is designed as a response mechanism for requested information. In other words, if someone calls your Hotline or opts in on one of your websites, and requests one of your free special reports, this contact would be inserted into a Free Report Campaign that would allow you to AUTOMATICALLY touch base with that prospect on multiple occasions over a specified period of time increasing your odds of converting the prospect.
Once the caller leaves their contact information, the data is added to your contact system or Lead Management System and the first of several marketing pieces is delivered on a time-delayed basis. In other words, the prospect receives your free special report right away, but each of the other pieces are delivered after certain intervals determined by you.
A Stay-In-Touch Campaign, on the other hand, generally has contacts added to it manually, either by importing a list of contacts, selecting specific contacts, or taking contacts from an existing campaign. The major difference is how you schedule a Stay-In-Touch Campaign. While a Free Report Campaign works on a delay-base schedule, a Stay-In-Touch Campaign is scheduled with a specific date and time (a minimum of 24 hours in advance), or if you’d like to launch for an occasion such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, New Years etc.
Which one is better? Both are useful and when combined together can make a dramatic difference in your response and conversion rates. So, don’t settle for just one. Employ them both in your marketing program.
