This valuable information is not just for real estate agents. Anyone that is currently using a hotline or is thinking of getting one to keep engaged in offline marketing activity, read on to get some great tips.
Question: How do Hotlines work and why is it so important to still be using them?
First you don’t want to alienate any prospects. There is still a demographic of people not as comfortable online. There is a percentage of people more comfortable making a phone call to access the information they are looking for. You can’t find someone’s hotline by going on google. You STILL need to be running print media consistently with a relevant message and it continues to be one of the best ways to create Grade A leads. You need to continue to leverage marketing and technology. You should have 3 -5 strong pillars in your marketing arsenal and hotlines should definitely be one of them.
Question: What is the difference between the two different hotlines; Information Hotline (unbranded) and the Tree Hotline (branded)? Why do I need both?
The unbranded information line says nothing about you or your company. It gives the caller/prospect the opportunity to get more information on the subject you are marketing about for example “Homeseller Mistakes” The Nine Step System To Get Your Home Sold Fast & For Top Dollar. The branded Tree line identifies you and your company. It acts on your behalf. This is the line you would put your listings on. It gives the caller the opportunity to listen to the information on a listing they are calling about and also gives them the option of listening to one of your 9 USPs (unique selling propositions) such as “Area Home Sales” Hot List of Homes pulled from your MLS.
Question: What are the key elements everyone should pay attention to when it comes to creating marketing scripts?
The scripts that Craig provides are proven and should be used as such. If you need to change your scripts to accommodate your area, pricing etc., you should attempt to stick as closely to the original script as possible. There tends to be a better response rate to a female voice, so use a woman’s voice where you can. Things such as tonality and length of script are also important. Just give the caller enough information to wet their appetite.
Question: How Does the Hotline Reporting Help?
The reporting function of the hotlines is very valuable in determining how your marketing dollars should be spent. For example, you can see which scripts are working better for you. You can determine by the four digit ID# which mediums and advertising publications are working best. Why would you continue to advertise in a particular paper for example that you may not be getting any results with? You can also determine the effectiveness of your scripts as you will be able to see at which point in the script people are hanging up. The reports will capture “hang ups” so that you can call them back as well. In general the reporting function allows you to test and track all of your marketing efforts so you are not wasting your marketing dollars on advertising that isn’t working for you.
